It was 2004 when I went up to work at the headquarters in Brooklyn for two weeks. I could not understand at the time why they had all those buildings with just people living in them taking care of them. The buildings were not being used for anything except to house people. When I got home this experience nag me for along time. That was the first big thing that started me thinking. It took five more years for me to finally wake up fully but that was the first major step for me. Still Totally ADD.

That One Defining Moment That Changed Your Life.
by new boy init seems that many times in life there is a moment or an action that changes your whole world.
it could be just a look that someone gives you.. many times it can be something rather small.
something hardly noticeable by anyone but you.

Sanctimonious, "WE'RE Thankful EVERY day."
by stillin inthanksgiving is really just a nice, traditional, family-oriented day set aside on a national level.
no babylon the great.
give me a break with the holier than thou, "we don't celebrate thanksgiving.

Why is religion in general so obsessed with what people choose to do with their willies and vaginas?
by jambon1 inwhat was it in the evolution of religion that got them so hung up about what people do with their genitalia?.
i mean, the (mis)use of genitalia is up there with murdering another human being in terms of badness.. and in the 21st century, we have a situation where in the jw religion, it's deemed as acceptable for three middle aged/old men to sit a teenage girl down and ask her the details of her use of her genitals.
to any normal person this is intrusive, completely inappropriate and bordering on deviancy.. why they so obsessed?.

It is all about control. They are not getting any and they do not want you to have any OR they are having sex with every person that walks by them and they feel dirty for what they are doing so they don't want any one else to have it. See it is all about control. LOL. Still Totally ADD

What age were you when you were counted as a publisher?
by OrphanCrow inthe wts has always included minors and adults in the same categories - publisher and baptized.. i am interested in knowing how many minors, approximately, are included in the publisher count.
and, at what age a person started publishing.
what age was the youngest publisher reported?.

Publisher at 6 years old. I remember going door to door by myself all the time. Because I was told this is the only way we could do this. That was 1960. I was 16 when I got baptised in 1970 in St. Pete FL. Still Totally ADD

It's been quite a year. Finally can move forward.
by Darkknight757 inlooking back at this journey that my wife and i took this last year has been quite life changing.
who would have ever thought that two watchtower drones would experience an awakening after child loss?
we can finally move forward since coming out to our family that we will no longer be jehovah's witnesses.

DarkKnight757 your story sounds very much like our personal story. We also lost all our friends and family. But now like you we are moving on with our lives free of the Borg. We hope one day our children will wake up but we are not holding our breath. Good to here you and your wife are doing good. You will have your good days and your bad days but that is the cost of freedom from a cult. Take care and have a great day. Still Totally ADD

- Trump is like a cult. He promised he can fix everything, he said he knows more than any general, don't trust anyone who not on his side, everything will be wonderful under his rulership and finally just trust him what do you have to lose. Being in the borg most of my life I could see what he was all about. It will not be to long from now you will see people going door to door selling "WatchTrump and AwakeTrump maz. showing us the only way to happiness. I know this sounds crazy but that is the biggest thing I see with this guy. I hope I am wrong. Still Totally ADD.

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.
